中村哲医師逝く

42コメントペシャワール会代表の中村哲医師が凶弾に倒れた。
絶句としか言いようがない。
面識はないのだが、彼の活動に心打たれ、寄付を始めたのは何年も前だった。
１０年ほど前にも、現地の日本人スタッフが誘拐され殺されるという痛ましい事件があった。その時にも憤り以上のものを感じていたが。
彼の功績は報道で多数出ているので割愛するが、その志がアフガンだけでなく、世界に伝播した影響は計り知れないと思う。
言葉通り身を賭して危険地域の復興に尽力する人を撃つなど、言葉が継げない。
彼の妻や娘さんのコメントが更に痛ましい。
「覚悟はしていたが、、、」と。善行を行っていながら、覚悟しなければならないなんておかしな世の中だ。
犯行声明は出ていないが、こんな無差別殺人のようなことをしている組織（人？）は、いかなる理由を並べようと許されるはずもない。
本当に祖国を思うならテロリストたちも中村氏のような人は逆に保護すべきだった。
これでペシャワール会の活動がしぼんで欲しくはないが、中村氏のような人でさえ撃たれてしまうような地域で続けていくことが可能なのかという疑問も出てしまう。
アフガンからも感謝され、日本人から尊敬され、世界から称賛される中村氏の心からの冥福を祈るとともに、二度とこのような惨劇が怒らないことを心から祈っている。
